Who is eligible to play for Holy Spirit CYO Athletics?
To participate, an athlete must meet one of the following criteria (verified by the Athletic Director per CYO bylaws):
- Enrolled at Holy Spirit School.
- Enrolled in Holy Spirit Faith Formation (minimum 70% attendance and enrolled the previous year).
- Reside within the Holy Spirit Parish geographic boundaries (verify your address here).
What documents are required if we live within parish boundaries?
If your child is not enrolled at Holy Spirit School or Faith Formation, you must provide:
Birth Certificate (new players only)
Proof of Residency: A current utility bill showing an address within parish boundaries (mortgage statements, bank statements are accepted if a utility bill is unavailable).

How are roster spots prioritized?
Holy Spirit School and Faith Formation students receive priority placement during team declarations based on roster availability and CYO guidelines.
Why am I put on a waitlist when I register?
All players are initially placed on a waitlist pending verification of eligibility requirements. Once verified, players are officially accepted into the program.
Fees & Regsitration Breakdown
How much are registration fees by sport?
Registration fees support facility rentals, league fees, and athlete gear. Current fees include:
- Boys Basketball: $365
- Girls Basketball: $365
- Girls Volleyball: $335
- Cheerleading: $120
- Cross Country: $50
- Track & Field: TBD
- Boys Sand Volleyball: $175
Where does our registration fee go?
Holy Spirit CYO is a non-profit, volunteer-run ministry. Every dollar goes directly into running a safe, high-quality athletic program for our youth. Key costs funded per player include:
League & Officials Fees: League entry fees (MVAL, SACgL), referees, and scorekeepers.
Custom Uniforms: Personalized jersey sets ($100 for Basketball; $65 for Volleyball long sleeves).
Facility & Gym Maintenance: Shared upkeep of gym floors, bleachers, scoreboards, basketball goals and wall pads.
Equipment & Safety: Volleyballs, nets, training gear, first aid kits, AED maintenance, and accident insurance.
Tournaments & Playoffs: Entry fees for one CYO-sanctioned tournament per team plus tournament awards.
Media Day (Pictures) & Parish Support: Custom Sport Mate photo package ($20 value) and two June Parish Festival raffle tickets.
Are scholarships or financial assistance available?
Yes. As part of our commitment to serving all youth, we offer need based financial aid (up to four student-athletes per season at $365 each). We also award two $500 graduating 8th-grade scholarships annually to student-athletes who have played at least three CYO seasons.
